Some of the software available via the NCSP utilize encryption technology. According to the Bureau of Export Administration -- U.S. Department of Commerce, Nokia must provide a certain level of due diligence to safeguard against the download of these materials by individuals residing in known embargoed countries.
The NCSP satisfies these expectations two ways:
· By requiring that a license agreement is displayed before allowing users access to download certain content.
· Checking the IP address of download incoming requests and refusing access to those originating from known embargoed countries.
